In April 2016, the Japan Association of College English Teachers (JACET) ELF-SIG was established under the leadership of Prof Kumiko Murata (Waseda U) and Prof Nobuyuki Hino (Osaka U). Meetings and workshops aimed at raising awareness about ELF and its implications have been held regularly. The group started with 20 founding members and now has almost 60. Details can be found at the group's website:
